Baked Grass Fed Beef Chuck Roast Using Simple Ingredients
Grass fed beef has a richer flavor and is full of essential nutrients for living a healthy life. This beef chuck roast recipe is a simple baked roast that creates tender, flavorful shredded beef you can use throughout the week in meals like tacos, salads, burrito bowls, Asian bowls, quiche, and more.
Slice the onion and peel the garlic, and lay them in a single layer in the bottom of a 9X13 glass baking dish.
Season the chuck roast on both sides with the steak seasoning.
In a large skillet, over medium heat, add oil or butter. Place the chuck roast into the skillet and brown on both sides.
Place the browned chuck roast on top of the onions and garlic.
Add the 1 cup of broth to the skillet and deglaze the pan. Use a metal spatula to get up any brown bits, then pour the broth around the chuck roast.
Cover with aluminum foil or a roasting lid and bake for 3 hours, or until tender and falling off the bone. ***Rule of thumb: Bake the chuck roast for 1 hour per pound.
Notes
Don't have beef or chicken broth? This often happens to me. I use Just Ingredients French Onion Soup Mix, which is made using bone broth. I'll whisk in a scoop of the powder into a cup of water. ***This meat is a perfect base for any recipe, including tacos, Asian bowls, salads, French dips, loaded baked potatoes, Chipotle-style burritos, pizza topping, and quiche.
