Vegan Cherry Crumble
Vegan Cherry Crumble
Simple fruit crumbles are a family favorite. Any frozen fruit can be used, but my favorite is frozen cherries. I buy 2 bags of frozen dark sweet cherries each month from Walmart.
You can buy frozen cherries from a specialty store, but Walmart has the best price.
How It’s Simply Made
I like using a silicone baking dish because it’s easy to clean-up and there’s no pre-greasing. I purchased mine at Aldi’s a long time ago, but if you’d like a similar one check out this link below:
Pour the frozen cherries directly into the baking pan, no need to thaw the fruit first. Sprinkle and mix in the corn starch or arrowroot powder.
Make the simple crumble topping and spread it over the frozen cherries. If only you could smell this right now! Just remember, there is no OIL or FAT in the crumble topping!
Changing Up Ingredients
I get asked frequently how to change up ingredients. I have a feeling these will be popular questions.
- Can you use quick oats instead of old-fashioned oats? YES!
- Can I use a dry sweetener instead of maple syrup? YES! Make sure though that if you use a brown sugar or coconut sugar, you add additional liquid like 1/2 cup more water to the recipe.
