Homemade DIY Face Masks – Relieve Dry Aging Skin
Radically change the appearance of your skin using homemade DIY face masks with pantry ingredients to moisturize skin and reduce wrinkles. Stop the cycle of hiding behind makeup and let your face shine with a healthy beautiful glow.
A great way to start changing your appearance is with:
- steamer tents
- face masks
- daily skincare routine
- facial ice plunges
- RED light therapy
I prioritize face masks, and apply them to my face 2 times per week. This prevents my face from feeling dry, dull, and aged. When you put your skincare first, it shows! This will prevent you from needing botox, and will allow you to age graciously.
What is the best 2 ingredients face mask recipe?
I have many 2 ingredient face mask recipes that I use on a weekly basis. Homemade face masks, using pantry ingredients, offer the same amazing benefits as high-end skincare companies offer. Listed below are 6 of my favorite homemade face mask recipes. Tutorials can be found on my Instagram reels page, the links are listed for you.
Here’s my Amazon Storefront with all my favorite products to make homemade face masks. Definitely check out the list to reference the products I like.

Oil Face Mask
- 1/2 tsp castor oil
- 1/2 tsp olive oil
Leave on for 10-15 minutes, then wash away with a little soap. Castor oil is a very sticky oil.

Have dry skin? Try this first. Your skin is begging for moisture. Olive oil is loaded with antioxidants, which makes it rich in fatty acids and vitamin E, helping to lock in moisture. This can help reduce fine lines. As olive oil is cleansing the pores, it will also soothe redness and irritation. If you have dark spots, olive oil is great at helping reduce the darkness.
When picking an olive oil purchase a pure single sourced olive oil, not a blend. Costco has a great option and it’s from Italy. The selection of olive oils varies from Costco to Costco, so I’ve included a great option on my Amazon page.
Castor oil contains ricinoleic acid, which hydrates deeply and prevents water loss. It also has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, making it great for those that suffer with acne. Castor oil can penetrate deep into the skin layers, making it a wonderful source for healing. Use castor oil to help soothe and heal eczema.

Turmeric Face Mask
- 1/2 tsp dry turmeric powder
- 1 Tbsp raw honey
Leave on for 5-10 minutes, then wash away with a little soap.

This turmeric mask helps decrease the appearance of age spots. Turmeric contains curcumin, which reduces pigmentation. It also evens out skin tone, and adds a natural glow to your skin. It has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties to help reduce acne and breakouts, along with aiding in removing dead skin cells, giving the appearance of fresher looking skin.
Honey provides deep hydration and locks in moisture, which enhances the skins brightness. Honey is a natural antibacterial product that fights the bacteria, which causes acne, and prevents future breakouts.

Matcha Face Mask
- 1 tsp honey
- 1 tsp castor oil
- 1/2-1 tsp matcha powder
Leave on for 10 minutes, then wash away with a little soap.
Often times I will use this mask without the castor oil. If I’m in a hurry, then I just double the honey and add 1/2-1 tsp matcha powder. Both are fantastic!

Matcha powder (green tea leaves ground into powder) is one of the richest antioxidants you can use for your face. Matcha contains Catechins and Epigallocatechin Gallate, which fights free radicals and slows down the aging process in our skin. Also, the anti-inflammatory properties help alleviate acne, redness, and puffiness that can happen when our skin is irritated. Matcha is great at clearing clogged pores and ridding the pores of bacteria.

Chocolate Face Mask
- 1 Tbsp cacao powder (raw form of cocoa powder – which contains all its antioxidants)
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon (I use Ceylon cinnamon)
- 1 Tbsp raw honey
Leave on for 10-15 minutes, then wash away with warm water. Use a gentle cleanser if you want to.

Cacao powder is packed with flavonoids and polyphenols. These properties protect our skin from free radicals, which helps prevent premature aging, that means less wrinkles! If you have sun damage, cacao powder can help heal them naturally when used as a face mask. Want to deeply moisturize your skin? Cacao powder contains fatty acids, which deeply moisturizes and prevents dryness. Like matcha powder, cacao powder contains anti-inflammatory properties to cleanse and rejuvenate your skins appearance. Keep those breakouts at bay with cacao powder, as it cleanses the pores to keep them from holding onto stubborn bacteria.

Banana Botox Face Mask
- 1 fresh banana peel
Organic bananas are best for this face mask because no body wants to rub pesticides on their skin, and organic banana skins are not considered toxic to our health.
Rub the banana peel all over your face until the peel turns brown. Don’t forget to rub your neck too! Do not rinse your face off for at least 10 minutes.

A banana peel is a rich source of antibacterial properties, which includes Zinc and Lutein, reducing inflammation, redness, and breakouts. They also contain vitamin C, vitamin E, and antioxidants to help slow down the aging process by healing the skin and giving it a youthful glow. The peel of a banana also stimulates collagen production helping prevent fine lines and wrinkles. The vitamin C in the peel helps heal dark spots and keeps them from appearing. With the multiple benefits, not all were listed, definitely add banana peel face masks to your skincare routine.

Honey Salt Face Mask
- 2 tsp raw honey
- 1/2 tsp non-iodized salt, Real Salt is my favorite
Leave on face for 5-10 minutes, then rinse off. Use a gentle cleanser if you want to.
Salt is my favorite exfoliate as it helps remove dead skin cells, unclogs pores, and gives your face a smoother complexion. It’s really good at absorbing excess oil, so scrub around the T-zone for best results. Salt contains antibacterial properties, which is great for the pores. Salt promotes a natural healthy glow.
What is the best homemade face mask?
Definitely the best homemade face mask that I use regularly contains honey, and an ingredients high in antioxidants like matcha powder or cacao powder. If I’m looking to exfoliate my face, then adding 1/2 tsp of salt really helps take care of that dullness.
What are simple ingredients for a face mask?
The simplest ingredients used in homemade face masks are honey and olive oil. Honey is my first choice for a face mask because of all the natural earthy benefits it offers. Olive oil is packed with antioxidants and can provide a richness to the face that most products can’t compete with.
In a hurry? Grab your bottle of olive oil and give your face a massage with 1-2 tsp of olive oil. This deeply moisturizes the skin, and provides anti-inflammatory benefits.

Best Non-Toxic Skincare
I got stuck in the drug store cycle of skincare for too long, but 6 years ago I decided to purchase DIME Beauty Skincare. Does red light therapy really work for wrinkles?
YES! Red light therapy is so good for your whole body, but especially for your face. Red light is wonderful at stimulating the skin to produce collagen and elastin. These proteins keep skin tight, reducing fine lines and wrinkles from occurring or getting deeper. These proteins also help with elasticity, which keeps the skin from getting wrinkles in the first place.
If you have puffy eyes, dark spots, or acne, try red light therapy. It’s amazing how we can concentrate light to provide healing, and I’ve seen the results on my own skin. There are several red light therapy products on the market today, but I only trust LUMEBOX. Lumebox is third party tested to provide you the highest quality equipment on the market. I was so skeptical about using this device for far too long, but once I used it, I built it into my daily routine.
I would forego any device that is just specific to the face. Make your money go farther, and pick a device that can be used on the whole body. I use my Lumebox before taking pain killers, it helps reduce inflammation, stimulates healing, and I absolutely love it and recommend it.
