Powerful Dried Fruit Leaf Tea for Healing
The Bible tells us on more than one occasion that the leaves of fruit trees are for healing. This is a clear message we should take seriously: heal our bodies naturally with antioxidant-rich fruit leaves.

I am not claiming that tea kills all cancer. However, I am writing this blog post strictly for a glimpse into what I have learned over the past two years from my own cancer healing journey. I am not a medical doctor nor a health care professional. Please do your own research, speak to your doctor, and formulate the best plan for you. This article is meant to make you think and realize that what the Bible states should be taken seriously. We have a lot to learn about fruit leaf tea.

My Healing Journey Changed How I Look at “Simple” Things
After beating cancer, I dove into the research from some functional doctors whom I value and trust, and looked at their perspective on healing. We know that antioxidants play a massive role in keeping our immune systems strong and diseases at bay.
Some of my favorite doctors are Dr. Brooke Goldner and Dr. Josh Axe. They take 2 very different approaches to healing, but one key component is the same: flood the body with antioxidants every single day, and mindfulness and prayer are key to keeping stress from rearing its ugly head. We’ll save the topic of stress for another article, but let’s dive into the nutrition side.

What Is Dried Fruit Leaf Tea – And Why I Had Never Heard About It Before

We must start with the Bible. As someone who’s walked through cancer, this verse hits differently. “Their fruit will serve for food and their leaves for healing.” Ezekiel 47:12 (and it’s mentioned 2 other times in Scripture) Scripture reminds us that God designed nature with healing in mind.
I didn’t just learn this on my own; I actually learned it from reading a book called “The Biblio Diet.” In this book you read stories of people who were at their last rope in the cancer journey, and fruit leaf tea radically changed their lives. Now, I believe another book will eventually be published on this very topic, and if so, I will share it here. The authors of the book are Dr. Josh Axe and Jordan Rubin. The story of Jordan healing from stage 4 cancer in 40 days is powerful. I’ll leave a link to the YouTube interview here.

Why Dried Fruit Leaves Can Be More Powerful Than The Fruit
One thing that really surprised me is how different fruit leaf tea is compared to regular black tea. What fascinated me most was learning why plants create these antioxidant-rich compounds in the first place. Plants are constantly exposed to stress from the sun, weather, insects, and other environmental factors, so they naturally produce protective compounds, such as polyphenols and antioxidants, to defend themselves and stay strong. When we drink teas made from leaves, we’re essentially benefiting from the same protective systems the plant uses to survive. That idea completely changed how I look at leaves. They aren’t just leftovers from the fruit; they’re often where some of the plant’s most concentrated protective properties live.
Matcha has also become part of my daily rhythm, but in a slightly different way. While fruit leaf tea feels grounding and nourishing, matcha feels energizing and focused without being harsh. It’s rich in antioxidants and contains natural compounds that support calm alertness, which I love as a busy mom who still wants steady energy throughout the day. After cancer, I’ve become less interested in extremes and more interested in simple, supportive habits I can return to daily, and matcha is one of those powerful rituals that supports overall wellness while fitting naturally into my routine.
My favorite affordable matcha that I drink every day.

What Are Polyphenols?
If you’re confused about how polyphenols work and want a deeper dive, I’ve written this paragraph below for you.
Polyphenols are plant compounds, and many of them act as antioxidants. Antioxidant describes what something does; it helps neutralize oxidative stress in the body, while polyphenol describes what it is, a natural compound found in plants. So not all antioxidants are polyphenols, but many of the most powerful antioxidants in fruits, fruit leaves, matcha, and vegetables are polyphenols.
I find that fascinating because it means when we’re drinking something like fruit leaf tea, we’re not just drinking warm water with flavor, we’re taking in some of the very compounds plants use to protect themselves and thrive.
- Vitamin C = antioxidant (but NOT a polyphenol)
- Matcha catechins (like EGCG) = polyphenols AND antioxidants
- Flavonoids in fruit leaves = polyphenols that act as antioxidants
I know this can be confusing, and sometimes I confuse myself! We still have a lot to learn, but I hope this explains it for you in layman’s terms.

My Personal Daily Ritual – And Why Rituals Matter in Healing
Ever since I learned of this concept, I have been implementing dried fruit leaf tea into my daily routine. I drink dried-fruit leaf tea every day, and it’s so easy to make. Fruit leaves are much higher in antioxidants, boosting your body with natural healing! It’s important to stay consistent. You can’t just take this once and think that’s it! You need to fuel your body daily with these polyphenols to stay healthy. Yes, you can eat fruit, but dried fruit leaves give you a higher concentration.
In The Biblio Diet book, 12 powerful fruit leaves are mentioned, but I focus on the top 5. To learn all about dried fruit leaf tea, I highly recommend you read the book. There’s another book I recommend called Cancer Hates Tea. This will give you everything you need to start your journey into dried fruit leaf tea.
How I Make Dried Fruit Leaf Tea at Home
When I wake in the morning, around 6 AM, I go downstairs to make breakfast and pack lunches for my family. However, one of the first things I do is fill my electric tea kettle with water. Then, I add the fruit scraps from packing lunches, like apple cores and citrus rinds, to the bottom of my French press. Once I add the fruit leaves to the French press, top it full of hot water from the tea kettle, and let it steep all morning long.

This makes about 30 ounces of dried fruit leaf tea. I sip on this throughout the day. I aim to drink 80-96 ounces of fluids every day, and coffee and matcha do not count because of the caffeine. Thankfully, dried fruit leaf tea has no caffeine.
You can drink this tea hot or cold. I have used this tea to add to smoothies as a substitute for water or milk. You can also use this tea when making electrolyte drinks.

If my family is getting sick, I will quadruple the recipe on the stove in a large soup pot and make everyone in the house drink at least 2 cups. This dried fruit leaf tea has become a staple in our home for boosting our immune systems.
