  • Every day, I eat 1 raw carrot, ½ a beet, and ½ an apple. It’s part of my simple routine to support the body God gave me, in the most natural and gentle way.

I’ve learned that carrots help the body detox excess estrogen, while beets and apples support liver health and digestion. Nothing fancy. Just real food, the way God intended it.

We saw amazing results through bloodwork that by doing this, and no other changes in meds, diet, or lifestyle, my mom’s cholesterol dropped 50 points in less than 3 months! Her eye pressure is now in the normal range and she doesn’t need surgery!

Real food is HEALING!

I’ve seen firsthand how these little daily choices add up. Stewarding our health doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive—just consistent.

  • I love budget talk, so let's dissect my $1,000 grocery budget!

I spend $400 or less per month on meat. That gives me about $600 to purchase everything else.

I have a @butcher_box delivered every 6 weeks to give us variety, and I always pick the beef and pork box. Then, I head over to Sam’s Club to pick up ground beef and chicken.

I try to be super picky about the quality of meat that we eat because I think it’s so important. Grass-fed and grass-finished beef has wonderful vitamins that cheap beef doesn’t have. I always think about that when buying, it’s not just about the protein.

Have a grocery budget question? Ask away and I’ll answer ❤️

Comment GUIDE to take your kitchen management skills to the next level, and learn how I manage my kitchen to feed my family of 6: 3 meals per day, keep a stocked pantry, and have meals prepared in the freezer. Comment GUIDE and I will show you how.

  • I'm sitting here in awe, realizing it's been an entire year since my last chemo session! One year since my final cold cap treatment, and what a journey it's been...

My goals for remaining cancer free:
•Eat my daily foods: green tea, chia seeds, carrot, beet, apple, greens, and berries (along with a whole foods diet).
•Rebound daily to stimulate my lymphatic system.
•Breath fresh clean air daily (thank you Air Doctors) and drink enough water each day!
•Live as close to a non-toxic life as possible!
•Enjoy life! Choosing to not live in worry or fear.

If you’re battling cancer, I have written 2 articles so far that may help you during your healing journey. Comment HEAL for the link!

  • It’s no secret carrots are healthy! When a person is diagnosed with cancer, many seek holistic treatments along with medication, and most find research that carrots play a huge role in healing. I know I sure did with my cancer!

I have continued eating at least 1 medium carrot every single day, but recently I learned an even bigger benefit to eating carrots. As I approach my menopausal years in the next 10+ years, I’m happy to know that my daily carrot could also be ridding my body of excess estrogen!

I am not a doctor. I love to do research though, so here’s some information I found, but please do your own research! I am not giving medical advice, just sharing what I learned.

A summary of what I researched: It appears that raw carrots are beneficial for removing excess estrogen and toxins from the body due to their high content of insoluble fiber. This fiber would then bind to toxins in the intestine and help carry them out of the body through stool, thereby reducing estrogen reabsorption.

This research was founded by Dr. Ray Peat
Lampe JW, et al. (1994). “Dietary fiber and serum estrogen concentrations in premenopausal women.” The American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, 60(3), 331–336.

  • Our culture says PROTEIN, and I love protein… but plants should be the majority of our diet.

When you get sick and your health is failing, plants heal. Plants have protein, vitamins and minerals, and they don’t raise your hormones, including soy.

Let me just clarify, I eat meat! I love it, but it doesn’t consume my plate. I have certain foods that I focus on eating everyday, which really helps me from wavering with my diet.

Foods I eat daily:
Chia pudding with cherries or berries
Beets, carrots, and apples
Beans and/or tofu (or soy milk)
Green smoothie or fresh juices
Dark chocolate (my fav)
Green tea and/or matcha

Focusing on plants will lower your grocery bill, especially when you focus on plants for snacks!

Take your kitchen management skills to the next level, and learn how I manage my kitchen to feed my family of 6: 3 meals per day, keep a stocked pantry, and have meals prepared in the freezer. Comment GUIDE and I will show you how.

  • After 10 months of searching we finally found the perfect car within our budget! This is the second car we’ve paid cash for and we wouldn’t have it any other way! It’s freeing!

We saved $15,000 to purchase a second vehicle after my husband’s Ford Escape died on us last year, but we had trouble finding what we wanted.

We toiled with upping our budget and saving more, but I just kept saying “no, let’s wait this out.” Thankfully my parents let my husband borrow their car to get to work each day, which was only a 2 mile commute one way. ❤️

We decided to only look for a Honda, Toyota, or Subaru, and Subaru was our top pick for our budget. We FINALLY found a Crosstreck in town, and with all expenses we came in under budget at $14,525!

Living the Dave Ramsey way is not easy when our culture is pushing “buy new and choose to finance,” but we motivate each other constantly to stay the course, and it’s paying off!
